NEW AUDUBON MUSICAL IS IN THE WORKS!
As part of the 5th Annual Leavenworth Spring Bird Fest
a thirty minute segment of the new Audubon musical, “Wild Goose
Chase,” written
in Leavenworth with New York collaboration, will be performed at Sleeping
Lady theater in Leavenworth. This shortened version of the musical will
feature selected scenes and songs from “Wild Goose Chase” and
will be presented by the Icicle Fund, with performances by actors and
actresses from New York, Seattle and Leavenworth.
“Wild Goose Chase”, the full length musical, tells for
the first time as a love story, of the life of John James Audubon and
his devoted wife, Lucy. It describes their struggle on the American frontier
and his exquisite paintings of all North American birds. The tremendous
conflicts in the life journey of this man and woman are resolved in what
is today a national treasure, The Birds of America.
Performances are scheduled for Friday, May 18 at 8:00 P.M. and Saturday,
May 19 at 3:00 P.M. Cost: $10 with proceeds to Leavenworth Spring Bird
