The North Central Washington Audubon Society is pleased to offer our second annual bird photography contest in 2019. The contest will showcase the wide variety of birds in our 4 county area and allow photographers to present their work to a broad audience.

Manson Lakes Winter Waterfowl Field Trip

Saturday, December 1

Virginia Palumbo will be leading a field trip to explore the Manson Lakes winter waterfowl. We will meet at her house at 208 West Nixon Avenue in Chelan at 8:30, and survey Wapato, Roses and Dry Lakes, returning by 11:30.

Christmas Bird Counts — Details Coming Soon

Christmas Bird Count season is right around the corner! The season opens December 14 and goes through January 4.

Bridgeport’s count will be on December 14, Chelan’s will be on December 28 and Wenatchee’s count is on December 29. Each count takes place in an established 15-mile-wide diameter circle and is organized by a count compiler. Count volunteers follow specifi ed routes through the designated circle.

Bird Survey Opportunities

Beebe Springs

Beebe Springs has re-opened, and the citizen science bird surveys are resuming on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month! Come for a leisurely 1 1/2 mile walk to see spring migrants, waterfowl and riparian/wetlands species.....Click here for more information.
